Eguisheim is a beautiful fairy-tale like village situated on the Alsace wine route and is listed among the most beautiful villages of France.
Eguisheim is in the Alsace region, 7 km southwest of the more popular Colmar. The town center is tiny and car free (at least for tourists). There is a metered parking lot just before you enter the old town center: 6 Gr Grand Rue, 68420 Eguisheim, France.
Every house looks like it’s been taken out of a postcard, and you get a feeling as though you have been transported back in time.
The central square is also magnificent with its fountain, the Eguisheim castle and the colourful Saint-Léon-IX chapel.
The Eguisheim Grands Crus Wine Trail is designed to introduce Eguisheim wine and winery in a more in-depth and original way and its famous for the 7 Alsatian grape varieties and also you can get to see the work of winemakers. From mid-June to mid-September guided tours are organized free of charge by winegrowers.
Already member of the club "most beautiful villages of France" since 2003, Eguisheim was elected "favorite village of the French in 2013".
